St. Lucia: Our Family Escape to Paradise
Where luxury meets laughter, and every moment feels like a memory in the making

St. Lucia wasn’t just a destination, it was a feeling. My husband, daughter, and I stayed at the Royalton Saint Lucia, and from the moment we arrived, we were wrapped in the kind of warmth that the island and St Lucian's offer.
The Journey Begins: Carnival Colours & Local Kindness

Our private transfer from the airport set the tone beautifully. We were greeted by a wonderful local gentleman who welcomed us with ice-cold drinks and shared stories about the island’s culture, history, and hidden gems. As we drove through vibrant villages, we found ourselves in the heart of a spontaneous Caribbean carnival, locals dancing in the streets, steel drums echoing through the hills, and bursts of colour everywhere. My daughter was wide-eyed with wonder, and we all felt that unmistakable thrill of arriving somewhere truly special.
The Royalton Landscape: Tropical Elegance

Nestled between emerald hills and the Caribbean Sea, the Royalton Saint Lucia is a sanctuary of tropical sophistication. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with winding paths, lush gardens, and open-air lounges that invite you to slow down and breathe. Whether we were sipping fresh juice by the pool or strolling to the beach, every corner felt curated for comfort and connection.
The Royalton Indulgence

One of the highlights of our stay was the personalised service in the resort’s restaurants. At Zen, the teppanyaki restaurant, the chefs didn’t just cook, they performed. With dazzling knife skills, playful banter, and incredible attention to detail, they crafted a meal that was as entertaining as it was delicious. My daughter was mesmerised, and the chefs made sure everyone at the table felt special. From fresh sushi to sizzling stir-fry, the flavours were bold, balanced, and beautifully presented.
Speed Boat to Hotel Chocolat & the Pitons

We boarded a private boat and cruised along the dramatic coastline, passing the majestic Pitons as the sun dipped low. The journey to Hotel Chocolat’s Rabot Estate was surreal, lush, elevated, and scented with cacao. We tasted handcrafted chocolate, learned about the island’s volcanic soil, and felt completely immersed in its natural beauty.
Waterfalls & Mud Baths in Soufrière

One of the most joyful days was our trip to Soufrière. We hiked to hidden waterfalls, where my daughter splashed in cool, clear pools under the canopy. Then came the mud baths; warm, mineral-rich, and surprisingly fun. We laughed as we covered ourselves in volcanic clay, rinsed off under the waterfall, and left with glowing skin and even brighter spirits.
Everywhere we went, St. Lucians were kind, helpful, and genuinely proud of their island. Whether it was a guide sharing stories of St. Lucian heritage or a vendor offering fresh fruit with a smile, we felt welcomed—not just as tourists, but as honoured guests.
We can’t wait to return one day and relive the magic. But for now, Antigua and St. Kitts are calling so watch this space for the next chapter, as we explore more islands and the exceptional service of the Royalton Group.
Why I Recommend St. Lucia As an independent travel advisor, I always seek destinations that offer more than just luxury they must offer connection, culture, and care. St. Lucia gave us all of that and more. If you’re dreaming of a family escape that blends adventure with elegance, I’d be honoured to curate your journey.
